Lottie/Bodymovin in Hummingbird?
« on: October 11, 2018, 09:10:06 AM »

I'm just curious if Hummingbird supports SVG renderer? I would like to use Bodymovin/lottie script from Adobe After Effects for animations in Hummingbird. Adobe Animate it's pretty silly software to do animations...

Kind regards

Hey monstrum,

We are in fact considering ways to further boost Hummingbird's abilities when it comes to animations. One of the ideas we are exploring is indeed introducing Lottie/Bodymovin support. Another direction we are looking into is having our own Exporter capable of exporting Adobe Effects animations which would yield better performance than Lottie/Bodymovin.

One thing you can do now is to export the animations made with After Effects as transparent videos and run them in our latest version of Hummingbird using the <video> HTML tag. There is detailed information on how to set up the videos for Hummingbird in our documentation.

Hope this helps.
