Twitch.tv live streaming is supported?
« on: February 28, 2016, 04:36:43 PM »
Hi,

I'd like to play twitch.tv live streaming videos in Unity Standalone(Win/Mac) application.

I can play twitch live streaming videos with Coherent UI when I tested on iOS and Android appilication,
but I can't play on Windows and Mac OS X.

How can I play live videos with Coherent UI?

Regards,
Hiroki Tanaka.

John

Hello Hiroki,

Since you have used Coherent UI on iOS and Android, I assume that you are using our Coherent UI 1.x Mobile, which is open source. It's not supposed to run on desktops. You can take a look at our more recent solution for desktops - Coherent UI 2.x.

Regards,
John

Is there going to be Twitch/desktop support in the future?

Hello Samgivertam,

Twitch streams can't be played in Coherent UI as twitch uses external scripts with features that are not supported by Coherent UI's underlying version of Chromium - Chromium 40. Since Coherent UI is not in active development such feature is not planned.

On the other hand, in Coherent GT, our pillar product for PC and consoles, such support is planned for the first/second quarter of next year.

If you have any specific questions on the matter you can always contact us at support@coherent-labs.com.

Kind regards,
Tony
